Q-Industries Named One of America’s 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Washington DC-based Interactive Agency Ranks in Top Third of 2008 Inc. 5,000 with Three-Year Sales Growth of 225%

Washington, August 27, 2008 Q-Industries, a DC-based interactive firm that develops online brands, websites and custom applications, announced today that it is among the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the country, as ranked by Inc. The award-winning firm is number 1,668 on the list following three years of strong growth in which Q-Industries tripled its revenues and employees.

“Our second annual Inc. 5000 continues the most ambitious project in business journalism,” said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. “The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth.”

Founded in 1999, Q-Industries develops interactive web applications for Fortune 100 companies, nonprofit associations and government agencies. This year, Q-Industries’ work on the Pew Forum’s Religion and Politics ’08 website was recognized with two Webby Awards, the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. The agency was also named small business of the year in Washington, D.C.

Since its inception, Q-Industries has evolved from a custom application development practice to a full-service interactive firm that builds ecommerce, social networking, web 2.0, and Internet-based tools and processes.

“We are honored to be included in the Inc. 5,000 and even more pleased to have the opportunity to grow our practice and areas of expertise by working with a core group of clients committed to excellence,” said Tim Neill, President and CEO of Q-Industries. “Our growth has been monumental and easily shows our dedication to our work and our clients as well as our commitment to interactive brilliance.”

The 5000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $185 billion and median three-year growth of 147 percent. Most important, the 2008 Inc. 5000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 826,033 jobs since those companies were founded. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and a list of the fastest-growing companies that can be sorted by industry and region can be found at www.inc5000.com.

Methodology

The 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, for profit, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.
